If the power of the electric motor is Maximum 4000W (4kW) and the maximum speed of the vehicle is Maximum 25km/h. Pedal drive is NOT required. It can also be used with a throttle.
NO LICENSE NEEDED and no crash helmet or insurance (But insurance is recommended!)
If the power of the electric motor is Maximum 300W (0.3kW) and the maximum speed of the vehicle is Maximum 25km/h. Pedal drive required (PEDELEC)! You can't go on your own! The throttle cannot be used!
2023 CURRENT legislation for the use of electric bicycles.
Effective legislation: "1/1975. (II. 5.) KPM-BM joint decree (Effective: 02.01.2021 - 12.31.2022): r/1.404 Bicycle: a vehicle with at least two wheels that is driven by human power, and It is assisted by a 300 W motor. The bicycle can also be transported by a person who is not riding the bicycle on a suitable seat. The bicycle can be equipped with equipment suitable for towing a trailer."
